So... Why a blog?

Ahem...

New to blogging I may be, and it begs the question, so why am I here?

My friend (let's call her Gail) and I were out for coffee, both of us musing over the desire to commence writing - we both wish to be published one day - but neither of us get down to the actual excercise of writing - stuck in the conceptualising stage.

We decided then and there we were going to hold each other accountable, having weekly touch points to see where we were... weeks have passed and neither of us has actually done anything.

Now, I have always wanted to blog, I see the value in it, I always have, and at this stage I am in need of excercising my writing voice. So, the experts say that when looking to blog, write about something you know. I love movies (I studied film at college some 15 years ago), and so here is my blogs core subject - I am going to use this forum to share my views on movies - did I enjoy it/did I not - it's just a sharing of my opinions, I'm no expert, just a fan. No ratings just opinions.On both new and old movies, whatever I happen to watch - and hopefully through this process I will be able to define my writing voice even more clearly.
